Description An intriguing cast-iron wall plaque featuring a relief portrait of Otto von Bismarck (1815–1898), the renowned Prussian statesman and first Chancellor of the German Empire. The figure is depicted in profile, showcasing his signature mustache, wavy hair, and a meticulously detailed collar. The relief possesses a strong sculptural quality, enhanced by a dark, bronze-and-brown-toned patina that reveals subtle metallic highlights. The reverse, which is raw and heavily patinated, retains its original circular hanging mechanism. The appearance of the cast iron and the visible signs of wear attest to its age, though they do not allow for a precise determination of its date of manufacture. A characterful decorative piece, ideal for a cabinet of curiosities, a library, an office, or a collection focused on European history and the major political figures of the 19th century.
