Louis XVI Style Brass Gueridon Side Table, Early 20th Century

Description :

Elegant French Louis XVI style gueridon side table, dating from the first half of the 20th century, circa 1920–1940.

This refined occasional table features a circular top surrounded by a beautifully detailed pierced brass gallery, composed of a continuous series of delicate miniature balusters. The decorative border is complemented by finely ribbed brass detailing, adding texture and sophistication to the overall design.

The tabletop features a dark wood veneer with a glossy lacquered finish, creating a beautiful contrast with the warm golden tones of the brass structure. Depending on the viewing angle and lighting conditions, the polished surface produces an attractive mirror-like reflection, giving the table additional depth and character.

The circular top rests on an elegant, slender central pedestal with turned and tapered detailing, supported by three gracefully curved brass legs ending in decorative scroll feet. This tripod base gives the piece a particularly light and balanced silhouette.

The table displays a lovely aged patina, with subtle variations in the brass finish consistent with its age. A few surface scratches are visible on the tabletop, as shown in the photographs, without detracting from its decorative appeal.

Perfect as a side table, occasional table, or decorative accent beside an armchair or sofa, this charming piece combines classical French elegance with timeless versatility.
