Delvaux Store On Rue De La Paix In Paris: 4 Cups And Saucers, Limoges Porcelain Cups
A set of four Limoges fine porcelain mocha cups and saucers, cylindrical in shape (litron style).
Each piece features a delicate, hand-painted polychrome design centered on a blooming pink rose and flower buds, accented with garlands of gilded foliage and cornflowers. The handles and rims of the cups are accented with rich gold gilding
Maison Delvaux in Paris:
Founded in the 19th century and located at 18 Rue Royale in Paris (just a stone’s throw from Place de la Madeleine), Maison Delvaux was one of the most famous and prestigious Parisian houses specializing in luxury tableware.
Like other major houses of the time, Delvaux did not manufacture its own white porcelain: it selected very high-quality blanks from the finest manufacturers in Limoges. The company then had these pieces decorated by its own artists in its Parisian workshops, creating exclusive and refined designs intended for an aristocratic and international clientele.
Cups: Height: 4.7 cm |
Diameter at rim: 4.5 cm
Saucers: Diameter: 10 cm
Excellent overall condition. The porcelain is in perfect condition (no cracks, no chips, no repairs). The colors of the floral decoration are fresh and vibrant. The fine gold gilding on the handles and rims is remarkably well-preserved, attesting to the minimal use of this set.
