Art Deco Sculpture – Nude Woman With A Cornucopia – Terracotta, Signed By Joe Descomps

An elegant terracotta sculpture depicting a young nude woman kneeling in a graceful and sensual pose, leaning against an imposing cornucopia richly decorated with floral motifs.

This work stands out for the softness of its lines, the harmony of its proportions, and the delicacy of its modeling. The face with its fine features, the carefully sculpted hairstyle, and the feminine posture evoke the aesthetic of the Art Deco period, which was particularly popular during the interwar years.

The cornucopia, a traditional symbol of prosperity, fertility, and generosity, lends the composition an allegorical and decorative dimension. Its finely crafted floral ornamentation contrasts with the smooth surfaces of the female body, highlighting the quality of the sculptural work.

The piece rests on a rectangular base bearing the artist’s signature Joe Descomps
