White marble burte signed Honoré Icard (1843-1917) made in 1887, character to be identified. Height 68 cm Weight with base 75.4 kg Weight without base 63.8 kg Delivery costs France 80 € Europe 150 € Other destinations contact me Honoré Icard began as an apprentice to a cabinetmaker-sculptor in Saint-Girons (Ariège). He then worked for an ornamentalist in Clermont-Ferrand, a city where he obtained a first prize for sculpture at the École des Beaux-Arts in 1869. During the war of 1870, he was taken prisoner in Prague. Released, he wanted to go to Paris to complete his training and studied there at the École des Arts Décoratifs. There, he followed the teaching of Aimé Millet and Auguste Dumont. He then worked at the Manufacture de Sèvres from 1892 to 1908. Évreux, Évreux Museum: David before Saul, or David playing the Harp, marble.
