Blown-glass Oil And Vinegar Set - Normandy, Late 18th Century
Table-top oil and vinegar set made from a single piece of hot-worked glass, featuring a central container adorned with a large bulb with twisted ribs and a tall ring-shaped handle, supporting tworibbed bottles flanked by two side receptacles designed to hold the stoppers during service. Both bottles have fluted sides and are complete with their original stoppers. A rough, irregular pontil mark is visible beneath the center piece.
Normandy, late 18th century.
Dimensions: height 29.5 cm – width 18 cm.
A rare piece, complete and in very good overall condition. A slight crack, likely caused by firing (thermal shock), is present at the junction of one of the handles; however, it does not affect the piece’s structural integrity.
In-person handover preferred.
