Large Vintage 18ct White Gold 4.10ct Synthetic Ruby 1.60ct Diamond Cocktail Ring

A striking large vintage cocktail ring, crafted in tested 18ct white gold and set with an impressive synthetic ruby surrounded by approximately 1.60 carats of old-cut diamonds.

The ring has a substantial gross weight of approximately 7.3 grams and is approximately UK size I½–J. The impressive face measures approximately 24mm x 21mm, giving the ring considerable presence when worn.

At the centre is a large oval mixed-cut synthetic ruby, calculated to weigh approximately 4.10 carats. Displaying an intense rich red colour, the ruby is secured within an elevated 14-claw setting, allowing the stone to sit prominently above the surrounding diamond work.

The centre stone is encircled by an elaborate openwork cluster of 42 individually set old-cut diamonds of graduated sizes. The diamonds within the principal surround have a combined estimated weight of approximately 1.40 carats.

Further old-cut diamonds are incorporated into the raised shoulders, with two vertically arranged diamonds to each side providing an elegant transition from the large cluster to the white-gold shank.

The total estimated diamond weight is approximately 1.60 carats.

The intricate pierced construction, scalloped diamond border and dramatically raised central setting give the ring a wonderful three-dimensional appearance characteristic of statement cocktail jewellery.

The ring is unmarked, with no visible hallmarks or manufacturer’s stamps to the inner shank. The metal has been professionally tested as 18ct white gold.
