Handwritten Franciscan Blessing
Hand-painted and hand-lettered antique Franciscan blessing, dedicated to Friar Edmundo.
An antique devotional panel created entirely by hand, featuring a Latin inscription and a painted, decorated wooden frame.
The inscription reproduces the famous blessing given by Saint Francis of Assisi to Friar Leo—traditionally associated with the saint's time at La Verna in 1224. The text invokes divine protection, mercy, and peace, concluding with a personalized dedication to Friar Edmundo (*Fratri Edmundo*) in place of the traditional recipient, Friar Leo.
The composition is embellished with rich polychrome decoration; the central inscription features ornamental lettering and decorated initials, while the text is framed by delicate floral and botanical motifs. The wooden frame, with its distinctive arched shape, features gilded details that complete the piece.
Dimensions: 20W × 30H × 15D cm.
Weight: 500 g.
