An early 18th-century rectangular frame made of carved and gilded wood, featuring a rich decoration of scrolls, volutes, and foliage motifs on a checkered background.

The four corners are adorned with large carved cartouches, while protruding ornaments punctuate the center of each side. A delicate frieze of leaves highlights the inner border, framed by moldings.

The patinated gilding shows signs of wear, revealing the preparatory layers and the wood in places, giving the decoration a contrasting relief.

Condition: wear and missing areas in the gilding and decoration, with visible corner joints. The reverse side retains traces of old glued paper and mounting marks.
