Created around 1894 by Pierre-Auguste Renoir, this work is, based on the third plate, or third version of the engraving (the two previous ones depict the girls facing in the opposite direction with much less detail). Hand-signed on the plate by Pierre-Auguste Renoir in the lower left corner, this print was produced after the second state of two. From the moment of its creation, this engraving was highlighted in the 1894 edition of Gustave Geffroy’s *La Vie Artistique* as well as in the 1921 book *Renoir et ses Amis* by Georges Rivière. 

This engraving is listed in Volume 17, Number 8, of Loÿs Delteil’s catalog of Auguste Renoir’s engravings.
