1912 Edwardian 9ct Rose Gold Albert Chain Necklace T-bar Fob Clasp 17" 52.6g
1912 Edwardian 9 Carat Rose Gold Albert Chain Necklace with T-Bar and Fob, 52.6g
A handsome antique Edwardian Albert pocket-watch chain dating to 1912, now configured as a highly wearable 17-inch necklace.
The substantial chain is composed of uniform curb links crafted in solid 9-carat rose gold, displaying the warm, mellow colour associated with antique English gold. It retains its traditional horizontal T-bar and two functional dog-clip clasps, preserving the character and versatility of the original Albert-chain design.
Suspended from the central ring is a charming, unengraved gold fob featuring an openwork scrolling handle and a textured matrix to its underside. The absence of engraving allows the new owner to personalise it if desired.
The T-bar bears British hallmarks, including the sponsor’s mark “JM,” the numerals “9” and “375” denoting 9-carat gold, and the anchor symbol for the Birmingham Assay Office.
Originally intended to secure a gentleman’s pocket watch, this impressive Albert chain has been arranged as a distinctive unisex necklace. Its generous 52.6-gram weight and classic curb-link construction give it a particularly luxurious presence when worn.
