Fornasseti Lamp
Artist: Fornasseti
PIERO FORNASETTI (Italy, 1913–1988), for Antonangeli. Table lamp. Italy, c. 1960s–70s. A table lamp conceived within the creative universe of Piero Fornasetti, where classical architecture becomes a decorative motif. The cylindrical shade features a refined black-and-white composition of colonnades, arcades, and balustrades evoking the Italian Renaissance tradition. The obelisk-shaped base reinforces this architectural theme, lending balance to the overall design. The Italian designer Fornasetti developed a unique visual language based on the reinterpretation of classical motifs through repetition, optical illusion, and subtle visual irony. Following his training in Milan and a period of exile in Switzerland during World War II, he established a deeply personal style.
