A superb, large 18th-century sculpture depicting Saint Eloi. Set on a square base, Saint Eloi is shown standing full-length. He wears a traditional pointed golden miter and a long chape (a ceremonial cape) in dark green, lined with a red lapel and trimmed with gold braid. Beneath this, he wears a pleated alb with vertical gold stripes that ends at mid-thigh, revealing a purple robe underneath. A gold pectoral cross is visible on his chest. The entire figure is covered in its original polychrome paint; the facial features are round and expressive, framed by curly black hair. A high-quality, large-scale work with some damage and missing parts.
