Collector's Table Display Case In Carved Walnut / Signed "l. Roustan 1913"

A very beautiful collector’s display cabinet and table made of walnut and carved natural wood, bearing an incised signature “L. Roustan” accompanied by the date “1913”.

This signature and date suggest an attribution to Laurent Roustan (1877–1952), also known as Pierre-Laurent Roustan, a French artist and craftsman specializing in particular in woodworking and woodcarving, active in the early 20th century.

The piece features a particularly elegant design, resting on four tall, slender, and curved legs. The waistband is richly carved and accented with sculpted friezes, while the four corners are adorned with remarkable floral compositions carved in relief, characteristic of the naturalistic style of the Art Nouveau period.

The upper section forms a true display case. The large glass top is hinged and opens fully, providing access to an interior lined with light-colored velvet. The glass sides also allow the displayed objects to be admired from different angles.

A lock on the front secures the top.

This display case was specifically designed for the presentation and protection of collectibles: jewelry, watches, medals, coins, miniatures, precious objects, small bronzes, or curiosities.
