Earthenware egg cup signed by the Manufacture Creil Montereau B&Cie, “Rousseau*” model with Japanese-style decoration featuring a dragonfly, a small insect, and a leaf, dating from the 19th century.
This egg cup is in good condition. Signed on the bottom.
* This is the famous Rousseau model created in 1866 by the merchant and publisher François-Eugène Rousseau and designed/engraved by the artist Félix Bracquemond. The design is inspired by Japanese art and naturalism (birds, fish, and insects such as the dragonfly shown here), and the blue-accented edges are particularly distinctive.
