Large 19th-century Venetian Mirror Wall Clock And Music Box
A beautiful, large antique octagonal wall clock, richly decorated in the Napoleon III style
The circular alabaster dial is adorned with blue enameled Roman numerals and black metal hands, and bears the inscriptions “Royer a Neufchâteau” . It is framed by an elaborate polychrome decoration featuring floral and foliage motifs.
The case features abundant Venetian glass decoration engraved with foliage and arabesques, embellished with beaded borders and cobalt blue elements. The upper section is crowned by a prominent element, while the lower section ends with an ornamental console motif.
Inside, it contains a music box playing four Swiss tunes, paired with the clock.
A particularly decorative piece, reflecting the 19th-century taste for ceremonial objects.
