- With the passing of Dirk Bakker, the art world has lost one of its most extraordinary and pure souls, a devoted creator who made his life a vocation dedicated to color and the imagination. An illustrious member of the “Samen Sterk” collective and an indispensable pillar of Alkmaar’s cultural life, Bakker transformed his studio into a lyrical sanctuary where painting materials and canvases accumulated like temple treasures, bringing to life a unique universe populated by creatures straddling the line between human, toy, and fairy tale. His paintings—celebrated in community centers and galleries such as “De Buitenkans” (where his iconic 2011 work now watches over the tea room “De Trog”), as well as in private collections and museums—has always served as an oracle of radiant light, capable of spreading joy and sacred mystery to anyone who contemplated his work. Although earthly circumstances eventually drew him away from his easels, the legacy of this master of innocence and mystery transcends human finitude, remaining eternally alive as an imperishable testament to his genius and kindness.

- Dimensions of the unframed artwork: 50 x 50 cm / 55 x 55 cm with an exclusive, custom-made frame.
