Ceremonial percussion hunting rifle, early 19th century. Ceremonial percussion hunting rifle, signed “Colnot in Wien.” Damascus-patterned barrel with gold and silver inlays, beautiful “dead leaf” patina. Chiseled and tobacco-colored bronze fittings. The stock is carved with a dolphin’s head and features mother-of-pearl inlay. Philipp Colnot began his apprenticeship in 1800, became a master craftsman in 1803, and died in 1816. Length: 73 cm.
