Louis XVI Cabinet, 18th Century
bonheur-du-jour or Louis XVI cabinet, 18th century.
An elegant small Louis XVI-era “bonheur-du-jour,” made of mahogany veneer, featuring exquisite craftsmanship and a soberly refined design.
The upper section, shaped like a display cabinet, opens with two glass doors featuring scrolled frames, revealing an interior lined with light-colored fabric and fitted with shelves.
It is separated from the lower section by a shelf that serves as a writing desk.
The middle section features three drawers, the center one equipped with a lock, while the lower section is adorned with two front-facing drawers, accentuated by an elegant herringbone veneer pattern.
