A beautiful, elegant desk statuette from the 1930s depicting a proud fencing master, sword in hand, standing proudly with legs apart. It rests on a high-quality trapezoidal base made of pink breccia marble with a black marble base; Typical of Art Deco, this lovely and delicate representation, with its Athenian sculptural style, is beautifully executed and finely finished; the lovely patina highlights this fine depiction of the sport of fencing from the early 20th century. Although a masterful piece, this work is unsigned.
