Large Cut Crystal Vase From Saint Louis, Signed By Jean Sala, Art Deco, In Perfect Condition
Large Saint-Louis crystal vase, a design created by Jean Sala, marked on the base with the stamp “Cristal Saint-Louis France” as well as
the engraved signature “Jean Sala.”
It features a slender shape with a slightly flared opening and intricate geometric cutting consisting of points, facets, and vertical panels.
Jean Sala was a designer and glassmaker active in the 20th century, notably associated with the revival of the decorative arts and glass during the Art Deco period. The Saint-Louis Crystalworks itself states that it collaborated with him as early as the 1930s, alongside other designers such as Jean Luce, Paul Nicolas, Michel Colle, and Maurice Dufrêne.
