Caribbean Sword / Machete, Late 19th Century.
A single-edged, curved, and fairly wide blade with an obliquely shaped tip, 70 cm long, featuring a deep fuller that extends along approximately the first three-quarters of the blade. It bears a partially legible inscription: “MANUEL DEJE…”. Horn handle, composed of two horn plates fastened together with countersunk rivets. It has a very distinctive profile, with its upper part ending in an openwork, curved element adorned with numerous small circular motifs. Leather sheath, decorated with stamped motifs across its entire surface. Total length: 88.5 cm.
