Claude-François Drouilly, a cabinetmaker, had his master’s certificate registered in Paris on July 27, 1748; he then lived for about twenty years on Rue de Charenton, “above Rue de la Planchette.” He is credited with creating fine Louis XV chairs in carved walnut, which bear the mark C. F. DROUILLY.
