Antique Fireplace Dating From The Late 19th Century, Made Of Blanc Demi Statuaire Marble
A rare antique mantelpiece dating from the late 18th century, crafted from white demi-statuaire marble, with a band carved from a single solid block and decorated with pearls; these are connected by a high-quality thread. At the ends are very finely carved rosettes, and the curved jambs are decorated with acanthus leaves and foliage, with a billiard-queue-style ribbon extending down to the base.
The mantelpiece is currently being cleaned and undergoing minor restoration in our workshops; it will be available soon in our showroom.
