Albert Jarach began drawing around 1898. His most famous works, signed “Jarach,” appeared in L'Assiette au beurre, Lectures pour tous, La Vie parisienne, and L'Illustration.
He created catalogs and advertisements as early as 1910 and worked for Paul Ollendorff. He was called up for military service for the duration of World War I, continuing to draw for, among others, La Baïonnette and the Librairie de l’estampe d’art. After 1918, he lived at 40 rue Bézout. In 1925, he received an honorary diploma at the International Exhibition of Decorative Arts.
In 1926, he was made a Knight of the Legion of Honor, under the sponsorship of the illustrator and humorist René Préjelan (1877–1968).
