Lacquered And Painted Russian Wood Box From The Late 19th Century By V. F. Moméra
Artist: Moméra V. F.
A fairly large wooden box...
Black lacquered on the outside and red lacquered on the inside...
Featuring a Russian mythological scene...
Absolutely beautiful...
With numerous details...
Signed in the lower left corner, translating to MOMÉRA...
And with two initials in the lower right corner, translating to “V. F.”...
From the late 19th century...
Origin: MOSCOW, RUSSIA...
In very good condition...
just a few small areas of missing paint, somewhat concealed by a black primer...
In my opinion, one of the most beautiful boxes of this style...
For your information, I have others that will be put up for sale later...
The hinge works well...
The lid is slightly larger than the base...
And it’s double-layered...
The smaller layer fits snugly into the base...
Weight: 481 g
