A beautiful bronze statuette of a dancing faun, probably dating from around 1800. We have not found other sculptures of this exact model, but similar figures of dancing fauns were made by Claude Michel, known as Clodion (1738-1814). Clodion normally supplied terracotta models to bronze founders, who would make the bronze sculptures.
Very good condition and beautiful patina.
