Raymond ALLEGRE, born in Marseille in 1857, was a student of Vollon, Bonnat, and Jean Paul Laurens in Paris.
He exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français from 1881 to 1932. He received several awards there in 1883, 1893, and 1894, in addition to two medals at the World’s Fairs of 1889 and 1900. He collaborated on the decoration of the buffet at the Gare de Lyon alongside Jean Baptiste Olive and Cornellier
The Granet Museum in Aix-en-Provence, as well as the museums in Cannes, the Museum of Fine Arts in Marseille, Menton, and Roanne, hold works by him.
Specializing in views of Provence and Italy, he also produced a few portraits and still lifes
