In Milan, he absorbed the “modern” aesthetic of the Novecento movement, within which he would remain active throughout his long career. He expressed this style with his own personal touches, which for many years established him as a leading figure in the provincial art scene, where he eventually became isolated.

It was thanks to his success at the “Premio Cremona” (1939) that Luciano Ricchetti gained widespread recognition. He received enthusiastic praise following his exhibitions at the Venice Biennale in 1932, 1940, 1942, and 1950. In 1934, he also won first prize at the “First Emilian Regional Trade Union Exhibition.” The work that earned him the prize was “Modelle,” which was then on display at the Ricci Oddi Gallery of Modern Art.
