Pair Of Chinese Cloisonné Vases

A splendid pair of Chinese cloisonné enamel vases, likely made during the Qing Dynasty (1644–1912), around 1900. The vases feature an elegant baluster shape, with flared rims and tapered necks, richly decorated with floral motifs and scrollwork.

The surface, dominated by an intense turquoise background, is embellished with refined ornamental motifs, including lotus flowers, stylized leaves, bats, and panels featuring pairs of birds nestled among lush vegetation. The decorations are executed in a vibrant color palette, with details in blue, red, white, green, and gold.

The neck is flanked by elaborate gilded side handles, while the body ends with a slightly flared foot. Both vases rest on carved wooden bases, likely made specifically for their display.

Of considerable size and striking decorative impact, the pair represents a refined example of Chinese cloisonné production intended for the Western export market between the end of the Qing Dynasty and the early 20th century.
