MAHOGANY CURULE CHAIR EARLY 19TH CENTURY FIRST EMPIRE PERIOD,
THE CURULE CHAIR IS THE SYMBOL OF JUDICIAL POWER IN ANCIENT ROME, ON WHICH
THE CONSULS,  ROMAN MAGISTRATES POSSESSING THE POWER TO ENFORCE LAWS.
THE CHAIR IS COMPRISED OF TWO X-SHAPED LEGS CROSSING AT THEIR CENTER,
THEY ARE HELD IN PLACE BY COLUMN-SHAPED ARMRESTS WITH THEIR ENDS PAINTED BLACK,
A SEAT UPHOLSTERED IN GREEN FABRIC WITH A FLORAL PATTERN IS LOCATED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE TWO LEGS,
IT IS SUPPORTED BELOW AT ITS CENTER BY A COLUMN SIMILAR TO THE ARMRESTS
THE SEAT FABRIC SHOWS SIGNS OF USE
THE CROSSING OF THE LEGS HAS BEEN REINFORCED PREVIOUSLY
