Frieze With A Noble Coat Of Arms In Red Marble – 17th Century

An important heraldic frieze in red marble, created in the 17th century, depicting a noble coat of arms finely carved.

At the center of the composition is the heraldic shield in relief, embellished with engraved elements and motifs, set within an elaborate carved frame. The outline is characterized by a rich succession of opposite volutes and curls, in keeping with the Baroque decorative style of the 17th century.

The remarkable depth of the sculpture, approximately 17 cm, gives the frieze a strong three-dimensional presence and underscores the architectural character of the work, which was most likely originally intended to decorate a building or a ceremonial space.

The surface retains a beautiful antique patina and the natural color variations of the marble.

The frieze is in excellent overall condition, consistent with its age.
