An elegant pair of clear crystal vases with ornate gilded brass mounts, dating from around 1900.

With a quadrangular cross-section, their slender bodies taper slightly toward the top. The transparency of the crystal highlights the richness of the openwork decoration and allows light to flow through the ornaments.

Each neck is encircled by a decorative border extended by a composition of volutes, foliage, and small mascarons. Floral garlands and cascading motifs adorn the upper part of the vases.

At the base, floral festoons connect the corner posts, embellished with roses and ribbons in relief. The ensemble rests on a molded gilded brass base, supported by four small rounded feet.

The combination of crystal and gilded mountings gives this pair a luminous and refined presence. Displayed on a mantelpiece, console table, or sideboard, these vases can be enjoyed on their own or adorned with a few long-stemmed flowers.
