- "Born in Belgrade in 1908, Miloje Todorovitch attended university in Vienna, where he trained as an architect, then returned to Belgrade to study at the School of Fine Arts. He came to France in 1935 to join an aunt who was a doctor living in Brittany; recognizing his artistic talents, she encouraged him to try his hand at painting. Brittany made a deep impression on him, both through its landscapes and the village customs he discovered there. The contrast between his paintings—with their rich and bold colors—and his constant exploration of textures and materials through his drawings and Indian ink works reveals the richness of his palette and his insatiable quest for perfection. He exhibited in Paris at the Duncan Gallery, as well as in Berlin and Rome. In 1972, a major exhibition at the Maison de l’Amérique latine in Paris was dedicated to him."
