Large 19th-century period door stained-glass panel with mythological motif: VENVS
An exceptional, large door stained-glass panel made of glass painted in grisaille and enamel, lead-set, depicting a rich grotesque and mythological design centered on the theme of Venus.
Description and Design
Central medallion: Scene depicting Venus reclining alongside Cupid, armed with his bow.
Cartouche bearing the name VENVS, surmounted and surrounded by cherubs, cupids, fauns, winged caryatids, incense burners, and foliage scrolls.
Geometric border in amber-tinted glass with diamond motifs.
Total height (including frame): 260 cm
Total width (including frame): 99 cm
Height of the glazed section (stained glass): 244 cm
Width of the glazed section (stained glass): 80 cm
Condition: Antique piece preserved in its original wooden frame. The colors and details of the painting are beautifully preserved.
Please note: There are two minor cracks on the lower part of the stained-glass panel near the female figure on the left, visible in the detailed photos.
