TUNISIA OFFICER OF THE ORDER OF THE NICHAN EL IFTIKHAR BEY 1859–1882 (with maker’s mark on the back)
Foundedin 1837 by Ahmed BEY and modified in 1855. The decoration bears in its center themonogram of the reigning Bey, and although there were 10 reigning Beys, there areonly 8 different signatures. The Order was abolished by Law No. 59-32 of March 16,March 1959 (6 Ramadan 1378).
Thecenter of the plaque corresponds to the reign of MOHAMMEDEL SADOK BEY (1859–1882)
