Large Louis XIV-style clock from the Napoleon III period, featuring Boulle marquetry of brass inlaid on a red tortoiseshell background, decorated with arabesques and foliage scrolls covering the entire curved cartouche-shaped case.
The rich gilded bronze ornamentation features a radiant Medusa mask at the center of the pediment, side handles adorned with acanthus leaves, lion’s paw feet, and, crowning the piece, a cherub blowing a trumpet—an allegorical figure representing Fame.
