Iridescent Glass Vase, 19th-century Crystal Staircase, Enameled Glass, Art Nouveau Gilding

An antique, bulbous vase made of satin-finished, iridescent green glass, featuring pearlescent effects that vary depending on the light.
The bulbous body, with a swirling design, is adorned with a painted floral motif accented with gold: blooming flowers and foliage. The neck is outlined with a fine gold fillet.

Given its Japanese-inspired and naturalistic aesthetic, the quality of its iridescent glass, and the refinement of its gilded decoration, we suggest comparing this glassware to the pieces marketed by L’Escalier de Cristal in Paris.

The base retains traces of an old inscription painted in gold, now heavily faded.
Several characters remain partially visible, including a group that could read “J.C…” or “J.G…,” as well as traces of a once-more-extensive inscription arranged in a semicircle.
