Bernardaud "barbeaux" - 6 Soup Bowls And Saucers

Artist: Bernardaud
An elegant set of 6 soup bowls and 6 matching saucers made of Limoges porcelain by L. Bernardaud & Cie, “Barbeaux” model.

The design features delicate, multicolored barbel flowers scattered across the white porcelain.

The rim is accented by a rich decorative band alternating between friezes and medallions, with the entire design enhanced by gilded fillets and ornaments.

This design follows in the tradition of floral tableware inspired by the 18th century; the barbeau—or cornflower—was particularly popular in porcelain designs during the reign of Louis XVI and Marie-Antoinette.
