Louis XVI-style Dressing Table With Three Drawers, Almond Green With A Patina—early 20th Century
A very pretty dressing table that can also be used as a console table, made of carved and painted pine; an early 20th-century piece in the Louis XVI style.
Originally designed as a dressing table, it features an elegant front that is curved and arched in the center, allowing one to sit comfortably in front of it with a small armchair or chair. It can be complemented by a mirror placed or mounted above it, thus restoring its original function.
The front features three drawers, adorned with delicate carved decorations of flowers, foliage, and plant motifs, accentuated by fine moldings. The drawers are adorned with gold-colored pull knobs.
It rests on four tapered legs, beautifully carved at the top and joined by an elegant, ornate crossbar, which lends the piece a sense of lightness.
Its very pretty almond-green hue, varnished and weathered, lends it a great deal of softness and character. A few signs of wear and age-related variations, visible in the photographs, add to the charm of this piece.
At 38.5 cm deep, it remains compact despite its generous width. It can naturally serve as a dressing table in a bedroom or walk-in closet, but would also look very elegant used as a console table in an entryway or living room.
Dimensions: width 116 cm × depth 38.5 cm × height 73 cm.
A lovely decorative piece from the early 20th century, as captivating for its original curved shape as for its beautiful almond-green patina.
