Set Of 6 Glasses/mugs From The Napoleonic III Period, Teacups, 19th Century, Orientalism

A vintage and elegant set of six sandblasted glass tea cups.
This design features a refined gold decoration in an Oriental-inspired style.
Each glass is adorned with a frieze of stylized foliage and arabesques painted in gold.
The lower portion is punctuated by a series of long, rounded panels reminiscent of arcades, while fine gold fillets highlight the upper rim.
The combination of the matte, frosted glass with the gilding gives these cups a particularly elegant aesthetic, inspired by the arts of the Near East and the Orientalist style that enjoyed great popularity in Europe in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
These small glasses were intended for serving tea, in the spirit of the Oriental-style tea sets then in vogue.
