Amalric Walter, one of the greatest French glassmakers of the Art Nouveau and Art Deco periods.
Born in Sèvres on May 19, 1870, he was trained in the art of exceptional craftsmanship at the Sèvres Manufactory.
The piece we are offering depicts Christ in profile, with a halo above his head and a hand, evoking the Passion of Christ as he carries his cross toward the Mount of Olives.
The piece is signed by H. Bergé (Henri Bergé), a sculptor who collaborated with Amalric Walter.
