Mirror With Blackened Wood And Gilded Embossed Metal Frames In The Louis XIV Style, Circa 1870–1890
Rectangular mirror with glazing beads, featuring a blackened wooden frame adorned with embossed and gilded metal plates decorated with scrollwork, foliage, and flowers. The central mirror is surrounded by reflective bands and molded moldings with plant motifs.
The openwork pediment features a basket of flowers framed by two winged chimeras facing each other amid foliage. The spandrels are adorned with foliage and floral motifs in repoussé metal. The back is made of black-painted wood with reinforcing crossbars.
In generally good condition, with signs of wear and normal use. Defects visible in the photos.
