Pair Of Side Tables Attributed To Maison Jansen, Circa 1950–1960
A pair of gilt bronze, brass, glass, and leather side tables, French work from the second half of the 20th century, attributed to Maison Jansen. Each table features a gilt bronze frame with cylindrical uprights, resting on tapered legs adorned with rings and neoclassical-inspired decorative elements. The upper surface is made of clear glass, framed in bronze, and the lower shelf is covered in leather, held in place by a bronze band. The set is distinguished by the quality of the casting, the precision of the joinery, and the balanced proportions, characteristic of high-level French decorative arts of the 1950s and 1960s. Very good overall condition. Note: slight pitting of the gilt metal, visible in places, without detracting from the legibility or elegance of the whole.
