Antique Walking Stick With An 800 Silver Pommel – Parrot Head – Ebony Shaft
A very beautiful collector's cane, circa 1900, with an ebony shaft and a remarkable knob depicting a parrot's head.
The pommel is richly carved in relief and engraved with a feather motif, featuring a green glass eye with a black pupil, as well as a finely sculpted beak and anatomical details. Several hallmarks are present, including the 800 hallmark, indicating silver with a fineness of 800/1000.
Beautiful decorative ferrule with relief motifs. Shank made of ebony. Lower ferrule made of brass.
A particularly original and decorative piece, sought after for its silver animal-shaped pommel and its remarkable carving.
