Baccarat crystal candy dish – Art Nouveau period, circa 1900

Elegant cylindrical Baccarat crystal candy dish, featuring a rich floral design in red, brown, and gold enamels. The body is crafted with a finely engraved and textured background, highlighting delicate foliage, clusters of berries, and botanical motifs, enhanced with touches of gilding. The refined and highly decorative composition is fully in keeping with the tastes of the Belle Époque and Art Nouveau.

This piece can be dated to around 1900–1910, a period during which the Baccarat crystal manufactory produced numerous decorative crystal objects combining engraving, enamel, and gilding.

Founded in 1764 in Lorraine, the Baccarat crystal factory became one of France’s most prestigious crystal houses in the 19th century. Its international reputation was particularly cemented at the World’s Fairs, where its creations were regularly awarded prizes and admired for the exceptional quality of their crystal and decoration.

Although unsigned, this candy dish nevertheless retains all the stylistic and technical characteristics that link it to Baccarat’s production from this period. An elegant and refined piece, representative of the renowned Lorraine manufacturer’s craftsmanship.
