Empire-style Candleholders In Gold-plated Bronze
Pair of Empire-period candlesticks in gilded bronze. Set on a circular base chased with rows of diagonal pearls, small flowers, and olive garlands. The shape of the shaft is unusual! Composed of two inverted cones separated by a band chased with flowers. The base is decorated on both the top and bottom. The stem is spherical and features rows of diagonal pearls. The original candle cups are beaded.
These candlesticks consist of eight bronze elements joined by a steel rod, a mark of quality since each element can be more finely chiseled. Beautiful original gilding with no oxidation.
