This former flagship of Aubagne ceramics was founded in 1908 under the name “Société des Faïenceries d’Aubagne ” (S.F.A.). Specializing in tableware and tiles, the S.F.A., driven by constant innovation, quickly established itself as one of the largest local manufacturers. Briefly renamed Faïencerie Nouvelle de Provence between 1929 and 1938, it would go down in history as Procéram starting in 1939 and ceased operations in 1977.
This ivory-colored dinner service is characterized by the clean lines of its pieces and its elegance.
A set hand-painted in 1959, featuring fish rendered in grisaille and natural colors on an ivory earthenware base.
It consists of 14 plates, 6 different fish designs, an oval platter, a lidded gravy boat (or “pot à rouille”), and a gravy boat on a foot.
Plate diameter: 24.5 cm.
Serving dish: 59 cm by 24.5 cm.
Rust pot: 10 cm by 10 cm.
Gravy boat: 18 cm by 8 cm.
The set has a beautiful glossy, glazed finish.
Stunning fish designs; the grisailles work is elegant and original.
