Pair Of Gilded Bronze Louis XVI Andirons With Ram Figures, Acanthus Leaves, And Drapery, 18th Century

Pair of Louis XVI-style fireplace andirons in finely chased gilt bronze, a modelknown as “Aux Enfants” (or “Amours”) featuring a little boy and a little girl sitting on rocks, warming their hands over a brazier or pot-à-feu tripod adorned with ram’s heads; the base is decorated with drapery, small flowers, and acanthus leaf friezes, and rests on four fluted feet, dating from the 18th century.

These andirons are in good condition and are of exceptional quality. Very decorative with exquisite chiseling. Original mounting (see last photos).
