Note: Jacques Mottheau was an architect, interior designer, designer, teacher, and painter. He worked for Armand Albert Rateau and D.I.M. He exhibited at the Salon d’Automne beginning in 1932, as well as at the Salon des Décorateurs. In 1935, he became a professor at the École des Beaux-Arts in Rennes and lived in Brittany until 1942. A member of the Seiz Breur, he helped create the Breton Pavilion at the International Exhibition of Arts and Techniques in Paris in 1937. He was passionate about Breton craftsmanship, which he championed throughout his life through study, teaching, and the creation of furniture with Voldemar Boberman (1897–1987). His furniture is highly sought after today and can be found in numerous public and private collections.
